The Saugatuck-Douglas History Center

Collections Specialist

The Saugatuck-Douglas History Center seeks a qualified collections specialist to assist the Executive Director and Collection Committee volunteers with the growth and organization of the Center’s collections, primarily housed at the Old School House in Douglas, Michigan. This position is part-time and of a limited term not to exceed 12 months. Specific tasks will include an inventory of the existing collection, participation in a collaborative partnership to grow the collection, and identification and implementation of innovative new approaches for increasing accessibility to the collections. Prior collections experience, strong interpersonal skills and experience working with volunteers are a must. Deadline to apply is March 22, 2018. Benzie Area Historical Society:

Executive Director

Benzie Area Historical Society is searching for a new Executive Director. The Benzie Area Historical Society is a small, rural, non-profit staffed almost totally with volunteers.   They own and operate two museums– one in a former 100+ year old church in Benzonia and the other, a small rural school in the far north of the county.  In addition, the Society provides year around lectures, programs and events. Director of Development

The Historical Society of Michigan seeks a qualified individual to serve as Director of Development.  The Director of Development is the chief development officer and is primarily responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating fundraising activities for the Historical Society of Michigan.  This position reports to the Executive Director of Historical Society of Michigan; and provides leadership for the creation of strategic fund development initiatives to include, primarily: a major and planned giving program, annual giving, donor stewardship and recognition programs, and public relations related to development.
