Local Organizations DefaultThe Forsyth Township Historical Society was founded in 1992. Its museum showcases the history of the township’s small mining and railroad villages from 1860s as well as the history of K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base. There’s a special emphasis on  the unique “model town” of Gwinn, built in 1908 by Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company. Designed by noted Boston landscape architect, Warren H. Manning.
