The Roscommon Area Historical Society preserves and protects artifacts and archives from the Roscommon and Higgins Lake Areas. Richardson School House served community from 1914-1955 and now displays an interior setting with many artifacts from Roscommon and surronding area.
The society’s collections include local artifacts from 1890 forward. This includes a parlor organ and old phonograph player. Archives concentrate on Higgins Lake and Roscommon areas and includes pictures, ledger books dated as early as the 1890s, maps, several written personal memoirs, and 70 oral histories on CDs.
